It’s cold, it’s slushy, it’s refreshing and boozy – it’s my favorite frozen margarita recipe! Making this recipe is easy. Many of you tasted it already. This margarita cocktail has different versions; frozen and iced. And also this comes with different flavors; strawberry, lime, peach, mango, and some other fruits. I added the NUTRITION FACTS of Frozen Margarita here.
Ingredients
50 ml tequila
25 ml triple sec
15 ml sugar syrup
25 ml lime juice (fresh)
large handful of ice
Garnish:Lime wedges and, or salt for rimming glass
Takes ,
serves 1.
Instructions
Put all the ingredients except the lime wedge in a blender and blitz until smooth.
Tip into a cocktail, margarita or rocks glass.
Garnish with lime wedge and salt at the glass' rim and serve.
RECIPE TIP
Simply make your margarita as usual but before you blitz it in the blender, add a scoop of your favourite lemon sorbet (depending on how sweet it is, you might want to add a bit of sugar syrup too), then blend away. This would also work nicely with raspberry, grapefruit or orange sorbet.
RECIPE TIP
When blood oranges are in season – or you can get blood orange juice in a carton – make this with 50ml tequila, 25ml lime juice, 25ml blood orange juice, 15ml sugar syrup and 25ml blood orange triple sec: Cointreau Blood Orange and Solerno from Sicily are both great. If you like bitter-sweet drinks, you could add a dash of Campari to it, too.
RECIPE TIP
It’s always nice to have a bag full of deseeded watermelon chunks in the freezer so you can knock up a watermelon margarita at a moment’s notice. Just throw in a handful straight from the freezer and then blitz away. Give it a taste and adjust the sweetness if needed with a bit more sugar syrup.
RECIPE TIP
AVOID CONCENTRATE AND CHEAP TEQUILA. USE THE RIGHT ICE AND LIMES. REGULAR SALT IS FINE, BUT YOU CAN ALSO KICK IT UP A NOTCH. GET CREATIVE.
